Ebay.ca Fees going up again

How riddiculous are ebay's fees and the worst part is they keep going up. Everyone knows that selling margins on the internet are already low as it is, selling on ebay for profit is an increasingly difficult challenge. What I would really like to see is a mammoth like Google come up with a system that would seriously rival eBay... they have a monopoly now and it needs to be taken away in my opinion. I remember when it was still possible to make good money on eBay about 4 years ago, it was nice. Now the competition is increase multiple folds and the fees for selling keep going up, not a good combination at all.. shouldn't be the other way around? More users usually means that you can give your users a price break, not for eBay and their monopoly though, why would they reduce their fees?
